After a reported 22 hour standoff with police, the man suspected of murdering his wife and daughter, was found dead in his underground bunker of a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Peter Keller, 41, had not been seen since his wife, Lynnettee and their daughter, Kaylene, were found shot in the head, in their home, which had been set on fire. A warrant for Keller’s arrest on two counts of first degree murder and one count of first degree arson were issued on Wednesday. According to court documents, Keller withdrew $6,200 out of the bank, told a fellow worker that he might not return, and headed for an underground bunker he had spent 8 years building, fortifying, and stockpiling with food, weapons, ammunition and other necessities for a extended stay. Police were able to ascertain the general location of the bunker from photos found inside the home and proceed to track Keller to his hideout on Rattlesnake Ridge in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Efforts to draw Keller out were unsuccessful and explosives at the top of the bunker were allegedly set off before discovering his body inside.
