A verdict of not guilty was rendered yesterday in the third murder trial of David Camm who was arrested three days after he discovered his wife and two small children had been shot to death in their Georgetown, Indiana home. Camm had served 13 years behind bars for the September 2000 killings. However in 2006, Charles Boney was charged with the murder after members of Camm's defense team discovered that the prosecution had lied about submitting forensic DNA evidence to the State's crime lab. The evidence lead to the arrest and subsequent conviction of Charles Boney for the crimes. The prosecution alleged that Camm had hired Boney to do the killings. There is an awful lot about the crime that I don't know, but I have long believed that he was not guilty. Camm had two prior convictions overturned because testimony of women that Camm had affairs with had been allowed and allegations of molestation of Camm's 5 year old daughter was introduced in the second trial as a motive for the killing were both cited as the cause for the previous convictions to be overturned. Autopsy records found nothing that indicated that the girl had been sexually molested. The two previous trials successfully convicted Camm in the public eye long before a verdict had ever been issued and with yesterday's verdict many believe that he is guilty and got away with murder. I wasn't living here at the time the murders were committed but remember reading about it in Ft. Lauderdale Fl where I lived at the time. I'm interested in knowing what others who are familiar with the case have to say about the case and their impressions of the evidence and so forth. I'm also interested in any details about the evidence because I've only be able to grab bits and pieces of all three trials and I'm not sure what evidence and testimony was substantiated in all three trials. Anybody out there want to weigh in?
